The Association is extremely grateful to Sensei Pete Saunders for selecting the prestigious Duke of York's Military School in Dover for our 2026 Summer Gasshuku
Over the years, Washinkai has been very fortunate to have superb venues to train in over the summer months. The majority of times venues have been in private schools. Some will remember Port Regis School, Bradfield College, Bryanston School and finally, Milton Abbey School with its superb 'Capability Brown' gardens overlooking the school.
This year, the Duke of York’s will not only be a new venue but offer the Association a lot more! The training facilities, the ensuite rooms for all students, wonderful dining areas, swimming pool, tennis courts, social areas, on-site cafe and extensive grounds. All included in the price!
It is essential that you attend these courses to maintain the high standards that Washinkai Students have! It is an opportunity to share training experiences with students from other Washinkai clubs and spend more time working on technique as well as learning new kata or pair work.
I am looking forward to hosting this year’s summer gasshuku.
