On Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August, Washinkai held its last event of the 2019/20 season.

The two day Gasshuku was held at our Dover dojo, hosted by Pete Saunders 3rd Dan and Calum Mendham 4th Dan.

The event could easily have been a Washinkai Yudansha course, as the vast majority of participants were Dan grades, with a few Brown belts.

We were lucky with the weather as both days were sunny and warm, allowing some students to train outside with senor instructors.

All advanced kata, as well as senior Ohyo Kumite work, were covered over the two days.  Saturday saw Steve Curtis from our Havant Club attending in order to grade for his Nidan as work commitments prevented his coming to Milton Abbey.  He passed his grading with a high standard of technique.

On Saturday night, Calum arranged a dinner for all participants and friends to attend at a local restaurant overlooking Dover Castle.  A very enjoyable evening!

Thanks to Peter and Calum for organising the event and to Neil Benton, Chris Wateridge, Charlie Hobbs, Adam Roberston, Roy Gould, Annette Turpin, Alison and James Thompson for attending as well as bringing your students to our Dover club.

2019/20 Season starts with the first event at our Canons Club in Mitcham, Surrey on Sunday 8th September 2019.
