Trevor Starkey
3rd Dan

Trevor served in the armed forces for over three decades, he initially trained in karate Goju Ryu style and has tried various other styles over the years.

He has represented the Royal Navy in various competitions including competing at the Joint Services.  Becoming the Senior Royal Navy Karate Representative for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Martial Art Association, having met and trained with Sensei Chris Thompson over a number of years he was so impressed with Washinkai Karate that he converted over six years ago and now runs clubs in the Hampshire area.

He believes that Karate doesn’t just teach fighting and protection skills but thorough self-discipline and confidence it makes better people for a better life.

I graded to 3rd Dan in July 2022.
