  • 1981 Joined Washinkai with sensei Thompson
  • 1984 Black belt 1st Dan in Washinkai
  • 1986 – 2nd Dan Washinkai
  • 1986 – Taught karate in St. Georges Hospital Tooting for a year about 40 regular adult students
  • 1987 – Quarter Finalist, British National Championship Crystal Palace Joined British Squad with Ticky Donovan.
  • 1989-1990 Joined Goju Ryu- HongKong JGKA under IKGA and joined HongKong National Squad
  • 1990 – Won HongKong National Championship
  • 1990 – Won HongKong Champion of Champions (First non-Chinese ever)
  • 1990 – Started representing HongKong in international Championships
  • 1991 – Won Honkong Open weight open category National Championship
  • 1992 – Semi Finalist – Asian Sports (representing HK) oragnised by Olympic Committee of HongKong
  • 1993- 2nd runner-up invitational Asian karate championships in HK
  • 1994 – WKF 3rd Dan in Gojo Ryu in Japan Yamaguchi Sensei I.K.G.A and J.K.G.A, amongst few selected members who were issued WKF black belt identity card
  • 1993 – Quarter Finalist in the World Gojo Ryu Tournament in Tokyo (appeared on the TV and HK news paper). Awarded certf. of Excellent performance by JKGA
  • (1995 stopped competition due to escalating back problems)
  • 1999 – Came back to UK to re-join Washinkai
  • 2002- 4th Dan in Washinkai
  • 2005 Kata & Kumite judge A with EKGB
  • 2007 – 5th Dan Washinkai
  • 2016 – 6th Dan Washinkai
