On Sunday 8 March, the 47th Washinkai National Championships were held at the Canons Leisure Centre, Mitcham, Surrey.
The entries were lower than previous years due to many reasons, but the standard of all competitors were extremely high.
Ten clubs from the Association were represented and the atmosphere was electric from both competitors and spectators.
A huge thank you must be given to all the officials who came along to ensure the smooth running of the day without delays between bouts.
The day finished early, which everyone appreciated.
We look forward to next year's 48th Nationals. (Due to Covid, the championships were cancelled in 2021 and 2022) In 2027 we look forward to celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Washinkai organisation.
