On Monday 17 July, Washinkai held its annual four day summer (gasshuku) course at Milton Abbey School, in Dorset.
This has been our home since 1991, except for a few exceptional reasons.
Many of our UK clubs were represented, but this year, a large group from Spain attended with their Instructor, Sensei Geovanny Sanchez Salazar 5th Dan. In addition, our Andover Club came for the first time.
We had four days of superb, sunny weather, training outside everyday and when it did rain, it was always at night.
On 18 May, the Spring Washinkai Gasshuku was held in Javea, Spain, hosted by Sensei Geovanny Salazar Sanchez, 5th Dan, our Spanish Chief Instructor.
The first session was held on Thursday evening for both junior and senior grades. This was followed by a senior grades session only. Many senior graded students had flown over from the UK to attend this Gasshuku.
A great course with Shihan Thompson covering two advanced Kata, history, application and practice!
Many thanks to those who travelled from Kent and across London to train, learn and support the Dojo. — at The Canons, Mitcham
