The 2016 Autumn Gasshuku was held from the 4th to 6th November 2016 at The Honbu, Wincanton, Somerset.

The new three dat format is continuing to prove popular with almost all the students training for the whole course. It was great to see Neil, Sara and the gang from Kent making the trip across country. It was also really good to catch up with our old friend Satinder Sehra on Saturday afternoon, it was the first time many of the students had met him and everyone got on really well.

It was a tough Gasshuku, physically and mentally and this was evident during the dan gradings. Our congratulations to Emma Rogers (The Honbu), Charlie Hobbs (Dover) on both gaining 3rd Dan and Emma Singleton (Queen Camel) and Eve Ball (Queen Camel) on obtaining their 1st Dans. For two students the weekend didn't go quite to plan but we all look forward to seeing them try again in February.

On Sunday, with tired and physically wrecked bodies, Shihan Thompson kept the pace and content high with all the students finishing the weekend exhausted but on a high. There is no doubt in any of our minds that the Washinkai Organisation is just getting stronger and stronger. The atmosphere, camaraderie and friendliness of everyone to see was really encouraging.

We look forward to seeing you all back at The Honbu in February 2017 for the Winter Gasshuku.
